During my holidays, I found a down near where I live which is ideal for a short walk. I knew this place for a long time but did not realise that it stretched far into a farmland and shaws. I can do a good sixty minutes stroll, rain or shine.
The view across the valley is beautiful and it tempts you to visit this place again for your photography. I look forward to the spring when the trees will be covered with fresh green verdure. Will daffodils come out before that?
This place is popular with families and couples enjoying their weekend recreation. Many come along with their dogs. And I saw a few that were jogging the hills in early January. Surely after the festive season, many would like to control their weight again.
I have already posted this cynical message on my Facebook Wall but if you really wanted to lose some weight, why don’t you get a dog, rather than spending money on a new jogging gear? That’s how I felt when I came across those joggers.
I am convinced that it was no coincident that I saw nobody jogging today when I visited the down. Actually, I was there twice; before lunch and again in late afternoon to capture the sunset. Instead, I said hello to quite a few dog-walkers and am sure they will come back here regularly.
And me? Well, I will be eating less at breakfast and supper, hoping to reduce some weight in the long-run this year!
These photos remind me of walking around the fields and woods in UK. I envy you! There are things I miss about living in uk, walking is definately one of them.
I always admire your long top photos, but this one looks a little bit misty. Was it a misty day?
yes i was a misty day!
and congratulations to your new homepage, too. It looks really neat. I sent you an email but looks like it was spammed?
