It was Sunday today and I went for a walk again. I am convinced that this is becoming my new habit. I have been on a detox weekend after a week full of drinking sessions and a stroll down a common was definitely refreshing.
I visited the greens at the other end of the valley from where I was last week. It was next to an aerodrome where gliders were flying high in the air.
Pity that the weather was bad; rainy and windy. But I still loved the sound of the wind as it howled through a shaw. It’s like a call from the past but you can’t really tell when it was or where anymore.
The hill-side sceneries are attractive and I look forward to the summer time when it will be much brighter.
And I found a small country-side pub between the common and my home! It was so local that the regulars stared at me as I bought a pint of bitter. That doesn’t happen much and I look forward to their scrutinies in the future.
The only disappointment was that it is a part of a franchise and so all the pub food are standardrised; no specialities from the house. Still, the place was full of families and couples enjoying their Sunday roast.
It was a pleasant moment and relaxing. Only after I finished my pint that I realised it unintentionally ended my detox weekend much earlier than I anticipated it to be… Honest!
